I’d been using Apollo since 2018 so it really became my favorite and most used app. I made a ringtone from the “Goodbye Apollo” song in GarageBand. A friend called me while I was in my local Apple Store and I cried with a random stranger when they heard it. Tears were definitely shared and flowing in that moment. Thank you to whoever created this place for us to share our experiences.

Check out https://wefwef.app if you want a client that looks like apollo

Memmy is awesome and it’s on the App Store.

There’s also Mlem, if the browser-based thing bothers you. There are certain things about wefwef that just irk me. I’m sure a lot of them will be ironed out with time, but so far I’ve had better luck with Mlem.

I would, but the beta is closed.

You're in luck, Memmy is on the App Store now.

I really like the memmy iOS app. It’s really similar to Apollo

Memmy has been great so far. The daily updates have been fantastic. I can definitely see it getting up to Apollo quality feature wise in no time.

Beta is full but I’ll keep an eye out for it. Using wefwef for now and pretty happy with it , although the web app aspect has its downsides

Yup, wefwef is good and a PWA which is a plus in my book

I hope Christian considers creating an Apollo app for lemmy

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago

With his attention to detail, I'd love it if Christian could make a good keyboard for iPhone. The native one is terrible and although there's Gboard and Swiftkey, neither Google or Microsoft are good for security. And their keyboard apps are only minimally better.

That’d be awesome, but I don’t think it’s likely unfortunately.

Goodbye Apollo song? What is this and how did I miss it?

I’m using Mlem and it looks a lot like Apollo

The beta for Mlem is still open last I checked. Haven’t been able to try memmy yet. Going back and forth between wefwef and Mlem now testing
