It's not that bad but if you hate change some launchers allow you to set an icon from an image so just download the old image and set it as that

I'm trying to change it in Nova, I don't think I can change to a single file icon, only choose from icon pack.
I use nova too if you hold down on the icon on your home page then press edit, click the icon then you can select "gallery apps"
Thank you! Missed the Gallery Apps option
Just a heads up that Nova might not be the best from for your privacy if you care about that: https://www.makeuseof.com/nova-launcher-branch-is-it-still-safe-to-use/
I used to use it as well but have moved on.
I don't think I'm replacing Nova, nothing compares with functionality.
In iOS there’s an option in the app to select a different icon, including the old design. Now, they’ve updated all the others so if you want the old design and for example the purple icon that’s a no go, but…
Yeah, the new logo is terrible, only takes up 1/2 the icon. I'll just suck it up, personally, but I don't know how they thought this little icon is an improvement over the old one - it's not. In any way. Ah well...
It seems like work half done. I don't understand why they felt like it needed to be changed, the logo was nice and modern.
Most of the complaints seem to centre around it not looking at all like a house anymore. In fact some were referring to it as the "baseball home plate".
Another comment noted that the branching bears a striking resemblance to the USB logo.
The older simplified icon to my mind was perfect:

Not so much detail on the tree, but enough shape to still be recognisable as a house.
