I'm re-watching the series for the umpteenth time and this has bothered me for years. I can forgive all the other issues with flying the raider: plugging hole with jacket, successfully out-flying Lee in a damaged and new to her spacecraft, raiders body parts still working after the brain is dead, getting the lettering on the bottom of the raider, etc. But I can't figure out how Starbuck was seeing to pilot the raider. Was this ever addressed and I just missed it? I assumed in the later episodes that she installed a view screen.

So, how could she see where she was flying?

Wasn’t there a window on the front? No? I thought that was a window. Ya it’s pretty far fetched. Maybe it was just the kind of intuition that assisted her in later seasons?

Yeah, the only thing I can think of is her godlike ability to pilot and maybe that is a window on the front.

I thought it was strange that the raiders and heavy raiders were 'living things' as much as any other cylon/ skin job and yet they never treated them as such. Right? I mean the skin jobs all had the ability to vote and to live their lives but the toasters and raiders were treated like second-class citizens.

I think they were treated like livestock/animals. Not considered the same level as a Cylon.

Maybe the raiders were designed so the skin jobs could ride inside and see through a window.

With all the sensors and stuff built into spaceships, you really don't need a window.
