I find this statement pathetic in its ignorance to the shared responsibility of all the signatories to further violent escalation. Saying that they want Israel to defend itself is correct, but combining this with the notion that Israel would be the one setting the conditions for a peaceful and integrated Middle East is absurd.

First of all it is absurd because the US with its invasion of Iraq, as well as its support for the ISIS and Al Quaida supporter Saudi Arabia has done nothing but deliberately destabilize the Middle East.

Second of all Israel has not shown any move towards creating a peaceful solution with the Palestinians. Instead it has aided the terroristic settlers to drive Palestinians in the West Bank off their land and many times just murder them. The rhetoric of Israel has shifted and became more hostile and violent well before the attacks from Hamas and Israel let its fundamentalist settler groups defile one of the most holy sites of Islam, the Al-Aqsa mosque this year.

All of this happened while western countries stood by, at best making a small reminder to not kill civillians and escalate tensions. If the western countries had drawn clear lines and gave real diplomatic repercussions to Israel, they could have forced Israel to not sabotage the peace process and making tangible steps towards finding a peaceful solution.

But these countries stood by and did nothing, full well knowing that the tensions will escalate into violence.

It took them a couple of days to come up with this statement about the horrific attacks from Hamas. Maybe they just need a little more time to come up with their statement concerning the even more destructive responses from Israel.

It is a shame the international community has taken so little effort to prevent bloodshed. The terrible terrorist attacks are the symptoms of the unhealthy and hostile environment. The numbers in the link below just show that there was enough reason to put more effort and discussion in this region.

Israel is about to go special military operation, and the western leaders give a go-ahead. Sorry but this time I have to compare these monsters to Putin.

This shows the hypocrisy of western leaders.

Imagine how we in the future will call Ukrainians terrorists for resisting a much bigger power such as Russia, if Russia ever succeeds to occupy most if not all of Ukraine?

How desperate must the measures be before you go from being a freedom fighter to becoming a terrorist?

Last time I checked Ukrainians did not massacre civilians.

No, that’s the Russians at the moment.

support equal measures of justice and freedom for Israelis and Palestinians alike

yeah right. What support has Palestine ever gotten.

Israel is able to ... set the conditions for a peaceful and integrated Middle East region

fucking lol

Didn't the US fail to recognize Palestine as a country for decades? Definitely not "equal" support. That being said, this is all a shit show and no one is going to be better off for what is happening here.
