I noticed on my Gura post the image became rather compressed. Since this is an anime themed group, there might be interest in avoiding that? If I'm mistaken my apologies.

Sorry if some people downvoted you, but I think this is a valid suggestion and something worth bringing up. To save on storage costs, I've enabled image compression (1280px max, WEBP format). It's not ideal for high-res images, but until Lemmy and pictrs update, it's a compromise. Once they do, I'll raise the limit to 4096px with better compression quality. For now, consider external hosts like imgur, catbox, or imgbb, or use a different instance with no compression.

Oh great to hear. Thanks for the reply. Do you know if the platform supports AVIF for images? I'm under the impression that it's better than webp.

In my testing, AVIF support is lacking. Images don't show as they should. They just appear as links even in AVIF-compatible browsers.
