I'm really only now getting heavy into emulators and I've been playing a lot of PS2 titles on my android phone. That's rocky enough that I know 360 emulation on a phone would be trash. But how is it on PCs?

Program recommendations? Advice? Thanks!

Totally not doing this just because I'm finishing up RDR2 and I need to know the rest of the story from the original, nope not at all.

Xenia is your only real option for 360 titles. You'd be right in assuming that it just doesn't work on mobile devices, and you'd need relatively strong hardware to run certain games well. But, such is the will of emulation, some titles run flawlessly, and others just suck. Your millage may vary so I'd recommend you try it for yourself and see how it goes. It's a bit unfortunate that Xenia isn't treated like some other emulators like Yuzu or Ryujinx for Switch which get consistent public updates.

I have an older but decently specced gaming laptop. I'll give it a shot and see what happens.

If it doesn't work out, I want to mention that an Xbox Series S is a pretty damn good budget emulation machine. $20 gets you developer access, through which you can install Retroarch (for most consoles before the 360) and Xenia (for 360 titles). It also has the benefit of officially having several Xbox and Xbox 360 titles on the store, many of which are enhanced for the newer hardware, but Xenia can handle delisted or licensed titles.

Unfortunately, no PS3 emulation on there though.

PS3 emulation would be neat too, if that's an option

RPCS3 would be your option in that direction

How is that experience? Stable? Can you use Xbox controllers? Is it especially strenuous on the system?

NGL I kinda wanna know what turbocum said to get banned lmao

How is that experience?

it works very well for lots of games

Stable?

for most games yes. here is the official compatibility list: https://rpcs3.net/compatibility

Can you use Xbox controllers?

You can use any controller you can get working on your pc. Xbox controllers work fine.

Is it especially strenuous on the system?

depends on what you mean with especailly. just like other emulators it needs a strong cpu. it should support the avx2 instruction set. here are the official requirements: https://rpcs3.net/quickstart> Nigger

It seems he is only banned on your instance. i see his comment. It was the n-word (with out any other text).

You might want to edit this comment, brother. I'm surprised no one noticed it.

PS3 emulation is a bit better than 360 emulation as of right now.

I play much older games on emulators so I don’t have very specific advice for you but PS2 emulation is kinda uniquely difficult because it had pretty odd hardware.

I've had a good experience for the most part with PS2. RPGs work well that ive played. Fight Night 3 is still one of the best boxing games. I've got a dozen games I think.

Shadow of the Colossus is that systems emulation white whale. I don't know the details but apparently it's one of the hardest games to emulate for whatever reason. Probably has something to do with it being a PS1 turned into a PS2 game thru black shadow magic. Idk.

Armored Core 3 is extremely rough too. Sky Odyssey won't even load for me. Ratchet and Clank is extremely resource heavy too.
