For the past several hours the Lemmy website has been signing me out. When I close a tab signed into lemmy.ml and open a new tab later, I get the unsigned home page and I have to sign back into the website.

I'm using Lemmy 0.18.0 and I have an account at lemmy.ml. I'm using chromeOS Stable 114.0.5735.205. While I haven't changed my desktop setup for at least the past several weeks, the only thing that rings a bell is yesterday I got the chromeOS 114.0.5735.205 update.

The issue also occurs with Chrome 114.0.5735.147 for Android on my Pixel 7 Pro and the Lemmy PWA.

Updates

  1. I also noticed the Lemmy user interface is now in Italian (I'm in Italy) despite having set it to English.
  2. The user interface language is back to English.

Looks like another person posted in the same community as you did at similar time... https://lemmy.ml/post/1630209

I have the same problem this morning. Using Safari on macOS.

Having the same problem on Firefox on Android right now.

I noticed that you don't even need to close the tab. You're just signed out after a few minutes.

Maybe this is intentional to free up resources? (Not that it would free up resources to delete the sessions on server and have the users re-authenticate every few minutes, but I see why someone would have thought so.)

That's definitely a possibility, but it doesn't explain why the language setting is ignored (assuming the issue is related).

Never mind, the user interface language is back to English.
