Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

I think this is due to file size limits, but not sure.

Could you please link to a post affected by this?

Thanks! I now see me question was useless... Sorry... I did read "load" not "upload". When I tested uploading a larger image file (2.44 MiB) I got a HTTP timeout error.

I agree that these upload errors are probably due to large filesize. We should find out whether there is a maximum file size on Lemmy in general, whether it's instance specific or if it's actually a problem with Jerboa.

Edit: Looks like the root cause is not Jerboa but Lemmy:

https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3349

Maybe let the Lemmy people sort this out first and then we'll find a way to communicate the actual upload limit to Jerboa users.
