I like playing around with Shortcuts but just can't think of any good uses yet. One idea pinging around my head is translating my natural language into proper requests for Google Home/Siri, but it just doesn't feel fleshed out enough. I'm a software developer, so I'm not afraid of a little work to get something up and running - I just need ideas!

I haven’t really played around with the new shortcuts extensions yet, but I’m thinking I’ll maybe start with an easy grammar checker or similar tied to the back tap on the iPhone to make it easy to execute

That’s an interesting thought. What do you mean by “back tap”?

You can use Back tap on iPhone 8 and later, it lets you invoke different accessibility features and shortcuts https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211781

That’s fascinating and not something I ever knew existed. Thanks for the info!

I ended up creating one for summarizing web articles - here’s the post if you’re interested.

I made a Shortcut that gives it most of the details about me and my device, then allows me to talk to ChatGPT with the gathered info in the initial prompt, thus allowing it to know me me better.
