In that vein, it's very much worthwhile to take the time to write a review explaining why the app sucks. It legitimately does, and I'd have been far less annoyed about the initial API change if the app they're trying to force folks to use wasn't so goddamned awful.
Then ... leave out the API stuff, the Reddit corporate bullshit, Apollo or RIF - Apple will scrub review-bombing from Apps' pages, and mentions of drama or competitors makes it easy to target those reviews.
I reviewed the Reddit app at 1* because it honestly is a steaming pile of shit sorry excuse for an app, especially considering how long it's been in this state now without any improvement.
Reddit in Play Store also got piled with 1-stars but the score is still at like, 3.5.
I've read that reviews are being deleted. I believe Google has some guarantee against targeted bad reviews.
Note to self: only do shitty things with my app quickly and at once
If you click the "yes" this review was helpful button on the one star reviews it puts them higher on the list.
I wish I could rate it 1 star, but I'm on iOS 17 beta, and you can't rate apps on the beta.
Unfortunately as of this writing, Reddit on the Apple App Store maintains a 4.8 out of 2.7 million reviews.
