A gaming sub free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.

  1. Can I have a husky without joining the vampire hunters in Dawnstar? Are the husky immortal?

  2. How often dragons and vampire attacks in towns? I haven't do the quest in Whiterun where you need to talk to the yarl about the dragon. So I'm safe from the dragon attacks and my character is not yet prepared.

  3. Can you survive skyrim without maximizing smithing, alchemy and enchantment?

Spoiler: 1. HuskiesYou must complete the quest A New Order to recruit them. That means you have to side with the Dawnguard and get as far as listening to Isran mouthing off. What you do after that point is up to you.

They aren't quite immortal - what they are is Protected, which means they can only be killed by a direct hit from the Dragonborn. They won't die from NPCs, fall damage, or stuff like that.

Depending on which platform you want to play Skyrim on this can be changed with mods 😅

  1. No clue, sorry.

  2. It looks like dragons tend to spawn more often after fast traveling. For vampires, it looks like frequency of attacks escalates as time goes on: https://steamcommunity.com/app/489830/discussions/0/1648791520840376016/

  3. It’s definitely possible to survive without these, but survival is easier with them. I recommend playing the game for a few dozen hours, then go to Whiterun and use all of your stores-up materials to binge on smithing. Alchemy and Enchanting didn’t matter as much to me as Smithing did.

Enjoy having fun with a great game!

I’ve played Skyrim a lot and didn’t level any of those skills. I played so much that I just crawled the map and tried to complete every quest. There is a good chance that I did, but I could have missed one or two. I never knew about the huskies though.

Some spoiler tags might be appropriate in this post. Your questions give away some things that are more fun to discover as surprises.

I mean....Skyrim has been out fooorrrr....12 years? I think spoiler warnings are a bit moot at this point.

I like to avoid spoiling classic games for patient gamers just as I like to avoid spoiling classic books for avid readers. There are always more of us who are just now finding time for them, and there is no expiration date.
