Am I the only one that wishes lineage os had a Foss and private implementation of notifications? (lemmy.zip)

Lineage os has enough market share that many foss apps would add support for it. It then could be ported to other Roms so that we could have a Foss notification method

As far as alternatives to Google Play Services go, there is UnifiedPush, but unfortunately it isn't supported by very many apps at the moment. I'd love to see it gain traction and be used more as opposed to Play Services, hopefully it becomes widely adopted in the future.

That's what I use but it would be better supported if it was commonly installed on most Roms. That would be likely the case if lineage os supported it
