MODERATORS

Our instance was highlighted in the video above, with the exact timestamp here. It's a decent introduction for those migrating from Reddit; although it would've been helpful to showcase more of the registration process, such as creating an account, searching for and subscribing to communities, and navigating ones feed in general. E.g. using online indexes such as these:

Still, it's hard not to appreciate the optimistic exposure. Hopefully moderation tooling and content archives will improve as the software and communities supporting the Fediverse grow and mature.

I had tried to comment (left a really long comment yesterday), but I think it was removed because it had a link in it. I just gave up lol.

Looks like the video has >1K comments already. Unless yours gets pinned by the creator, YouTube just buries newer comments into its unholy algorithmic heap.

there weren't many comments when I originally commented. pretty sure it got spam removed from the links.

Speaking of independent Fediverse type things, the creator in question also uploads to Odysee, which uses the LBRY blockchain: https://odysee.com/@AlphaNerd:8/lemmy-the-foss-federated-reddit:b

Metal outlaw has such a great channel, he has introduced me to a few tech topics I either haven’t heard of or were pretty ignorant about. Also he has the best arch install video on YouTube
