Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

I can search for communities in the little list box at the bottom. I have absolutely no idea how to search for posts or comments (other than using DuckDuckGo or whatever).

Oh, there it is... I had tried using that before but it was only showing the communities I had already subscribed to. Now that I've tried it again its showing other communities too. I'm assuming the server just must have been overloaded when I tried it.

Communities: second button from the left on the toolbar. Looks like a list icon. Also took me a while.

How to search for posts I also haven't figured out yet. Is that possible yet? 🤷‍♂️

It's currently not possible in jerboa to search for posts, or any other content except for communities. There is a issue created on github - so I guess it will be possible in the future. For now you have to use the search function on the website of your instance. At least on feddit.de it's working as I would expect it.

Currently.

Possible in the future.

For now.

I love how FOSS often has this glimmer of hope. With Lemmy becoming more popular more and more developers might come on board and the glimmer will start becoming a light. 😊
