I’m so gutted for Papenhyuzen I can’t even celebrate this win right now 😢. Confirmed same injury as Yow Yeh and we all know how that ended. Absolutely brutal, he did not deserve that after what he has been through.

I hate the storms but like paps. Hate the fact he came back only to get injured again. I don't want him to retire, same way I don't want turbo to retire, but why would he come back?

It can be an absolute cruel game to some of the best players.

Bring back the biting lol

Jack Bighton 😬

Flegler with the dick fingers. Reckon his long term Fox League sponsorship is safe.

For those playing at home:

Uh oh, it's To'o!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

So despite the confirmation last night of a broken ankle and compound fracture it actually wasn’t a compound fracture which is HUGE news. Last I saw they were doing the surgery and would then confirm if it was an ankle break or just a straight tibia/fibula break, with the latter being preferable as it would have a much lower chance of being a career ender. Fingers crossed!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Saw they were expecting him to be training at the beginning of next year!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Fantastic turn of events! Looks like it’s just a broken fibula- pretty much the absolute best case scenario!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Oh no. Paps with a broken ankle?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Hughes with a huge kick and...

No chasers.

No heart from the storms tonight.

Looks like he's waiting for a bus while they pull their finger out on the medicab.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

He lost ALL the ligaments 😞

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Ahaha, now we've got a dual storms ko. What a nightmare.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Jeebus that 2 player Melbourne head clash was brutal

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Broncs 8-0 at halftime.

Fair enough scoreline. Broncos did have one really promising attack that they messed up.

idk why you wouldn't get some early ball to Staggs. I think he only got the ball twice that half.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Anyone vs the storms is an instant bandwagon hop for me.

Brisbane bullying the storms around the park, can only hope for a big scoreline against them (not 40-0 tho, that is sacred).

That knights v raiders game was a cracker. Did not like the penalty goal to win it but what can you do, it's the NRL and they're gonna do that every now and then unfortunately.

looks like ol' Fighton is gonna be sitting out a few weeks for Souths. Can't believe he didn't get sent off, he even admitted to biting him when talking to the ref!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Knights have flipped the switch.

Hard to see the Raiders holding out now

Great game from both teams in the wet.

Respect to the Broncos defence. Melbourne never looked like scoring. Broncos well deserved winners.

But holy hell, that last 10 minutes or so of Melbourne injuries... I hate Melbourne, but no, not like this....☹️

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Yeh I can’t remember a worse 10 minutes of injuries ever tbh. Coates was in a world of hurt, that head clash was one of the most brutal I’ve ever seen (how one of them managed to get up and stay on the field before going off 10 minutes later is amazing, the ref should have sent him straight away for an HIA), and then Papi going down like that. Just terrible.

I’m a Broncos diehard but I like the storm as they’re basically another QLD team, so that end just took all the wind out of my jovial sails.

Broncos going to definitely have to fix their errors if they want to beat Penrith though. Walsh made a couple of unforgivable ones in the 2 play the ball errors. Also his insistence to challenge the first one was bad. You could tell Reynolds didn’t want to but Walsh convinced him. Terrible call by Walsh.

Lil sparkle eyes over. Gotta love it!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Love some of those crowd shots more...

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

No, not Papy!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

No-one wanted to tackle him because he's a ponga...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Neither of these teams look good enough to deserve to win, tbh

Roosters had some good possession later in the half, which might balance things out.

Not sure if the wind at the back of the Roosters for the 2nd half will make the difference

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Broncos, Panthers, Roosters, Knights are my totally unbiased picks 😀

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

I'm only going to watch the Sharks v Roosters game. Seems like the only one where the result is up in the air.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Broncos v Storm is a bit uncertain. Only because Melbourne has some strange voodoo hold on the Broncos. I suspect Bellamy sold his soul to the devil and is a secret master of the dark arts. I hope the Broncos can yeet him into the cauldron of Lang Park to break the curse!

I liked watching the Broncos this year. They play good attacking footy, and Reece Walsh is a firecracker. And I hate the Storm. It will be an epic good vs evil battle for me 😎

Broncos,Warriors,Sharks,Knights. - (hopes not predictions) looking forward to it.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Not too impressed with Walters so far...

Edit: and he pulls off a nice kick that leads to a penalty. You're welcome, Broncos! 😀

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Walsh. Too slippery in the wet!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Bit of dirty dancing there!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Bellyache upset that Walsh is stealing Studs Out Slater's signature move.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Carrigan searching for a staple gun. Putting some serious respect on the man bun tonight.

When he remembers just how big he is, he's a machine.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Melbourne's only chance to score seems to be from a kick....

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Not if NAS keeps doing that

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

This is madness. I was saying 5 minutes ago, it'd be better for both teams to just agree to end the game

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Unfortunately I think he has as much chance of playing next week as he does ever playing again. Devastating.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

The worst thing about sports is injuries. I always wanna see the best playing the best. Fans are robbed!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Didn’t think I’d be cheering for the panthers but I’d rather they win now so we can play them in a grand final rather than the prelim. Then winning today gives us a much easier path to the grand final.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Roosters having to defend too much. Gonna be out of gas later...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Ugh, injuries take out Sualii and Manu. Teddy takes himself out for 10 minutes....

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Wow what a great finish to that game. gg all round.

Gutsy effort from the Raiders to get back into it.

That Newcastle crowd is gonna be rowdy tonight 😁

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

When Staggs is on, he can't be stopped!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Good luck Kniggits!
