Hey, i was wondering if anybody had any advice on a replacement sms app abd keyboard app. I plan on fully deleting my gmail account and have removed or replaced all my apps that require play store connection with the acceptions of textra and Swiftkey

For a sms my biggest requirements are an app that wont auto delete text history and can send large gifs. I tried quik sms yesterday but it woukdnt send larger gifs

For a keyboard i was hoping fot something similar to swift key in customizability and layout. Ideally with gif search but if its purely offline thats fine. A way to store personal dictionary would be needed too.

Thanks in advance

This looks actually quite like what I'm after, I'm gonna give it a try, thanks for recommendation!

Remember to "buy" it if you do end out going with it. I keep giving them money every time I help someone switch over

Heliboard works well for me. But SMS is a problem because RCS isn't very well standardized, so you're pretty much stuck with only Google Messages on Android. I've been trying to instead get as many contacts onto Signal or other secure messaging apps since SMS is so out of date and insecure.

For text messages, I can't help you, as I use QK SMS, but there is Messages Fossify that you can try.

Otherwise, for the keyboard, there is Heliboard and AnySoftKeyboard (still in beta). Some people also recommend Floris. In addition to the first two, I recommend FUTO or FUTO Voice for voice-to-text transcription.
