Of course the government wants the nice parts of "essential worker" when it comes to forced agreements and outlawing striking but doesn't want the bad parts of having to pay them appropriately or protect their labour.

Great news. I don't have my ear to the ground with OSSTF but their leadership giving up at least the threat of a strike from the get go seems like a huge betrayal.
I'm just going to go right ahead and say they're corrupt.
This is so blatantly anti worker there is no way a properly function union would ever suggest this. The only reasonable explanations is that union member are being bribed. There is no way they are just that stupid, or just that incompetent. They must be corrupt.
