For those who aren't already aware, you can continue to get Windows 10 security updates after EOS, as well as updates for legacy windows systems, with 0patch. That's what I plan on doing. https://0patch.com/
I thought they specifically planned to end the security updates to force people to use win11
Microsoft is going to stop providing updates, but 0patch is specifically providing security patches after EOS so that people don't have to upgrade to Windows 11.
Microsoft does that too though. And afaik they have offered extended support for a long time for loads of windows versions (especially for the server versions)
They are not ending support for some evil plot to force people to use win11. They just don't want to support win10 forever. The exact same thing has happened to every other windows version and most Linux distros and lots of other stuff like servers and networking hardware.
it would feel less evil if win11 wasnt so full of awful and downgraded features.
That's just incompetence. It's not like they are laughing with the devil because people can't place the taskbar at the top anymore.
They feel they can afford incompetence because they know so many people dont have a choice anyway. Any microsoft locked institution for example. If that isnt at least a little evil I dont know what is.
You can also overcome your Stockholm syndrome and ditch the trash for good.
Unfortunately there are a few things that keep me from switching to Linux.
- The drivers for my mouse don't work properly
- JACK is not a substitute for Voicemeeter
- JACK's latency makes it less suitable for recording guitar
- I use FL Studio
- I need access to a Windows testing environment
- Having to suddenly troubleshoot in Linux completely breaks my flow

I know this is a joke but I genuinely get annoyed by people who seriously believe this.
I mean I do reserve the right to get annoyed when I'm asked for help because windows messed something up and they want it fixed in windows.
In that cases while perhaps a little less polite and more over the top than I would phrase it the meme's end at least is valid in my opinion.
I also very quickly get frustrated when people fail to follow the instructions with a program.
I just say I don't use windows anymore so I can't help you from the windows side of things.
And not following instructions are something that needs to be undone slowly. I tend to just point out the instructions they missed and how they could have avoided the whole ordeal if they read that. Unfortunately you need to teach (or unlearn the windows habit) people that in Linux there's no BS next next next where there's no useful info given.

I think the rest I would agree with, I'm just impatient with that.
and i just repeat that and be like i cant help you, i will probably make things worse (shrugs)
and i get that, at that point i would just say nothing cause thats better than a negative impression. just imagine a 3 yr old and be like they dont know any better.

As a 20 year Linux user I cringed at this.

I hope the point is that it is as idiotic as the original. WTF did the original guy study the blade for, if not to protect other people from the barbarians ? Is he really so bad at the blade he can only protect himself ? Then I guess maybe he really did need to train all that time after all π
