Calling them subs just like I call safe spots in every soulslike a bonfire.

I vote for sublemmy

They need a name, what do we call them??!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago (5 children)

"comms" short and "community" for long

"Comms" sounds bad.

I propose we call them 'nities.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That sounds... dirty.

Do it again! 😁

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago

I want you all up in my 'nities, fam.

Subs, for subcommunity. COME AT ME!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 weeks ago

Not the most creative method but I'll say something like 'over at [community hyperlink].' Others have pointed out that you use "/c/" as a replacement of "r/."

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago (4 children)

It's coms guys not comms. You could do commune or commy or commies or just plain them dem reds too

I've been saying "munis" and it seems to work fine

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

'munis' stresses the correct syllable, but it's also short for 'municipalities'. E.g Muni Gov.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago

that's not necessarily a problem in this context
