I found this article a gripping read. Can't imagine living in a community so controlled by a group that spreads hate

I went to high school in Norwich so I’ve spent a fair amount of time there, although not in well over a decade. There are definitely a lot of religious people there and the community definitely feels split in two in some ways. There is a very similar feel in nearby communities like Otterville and Burgessville. That being said this article makes it seem like there is a war going on but they more or less just seem like normal small towns if you were to visit. It’s not like people are being harassed in public and they’re miserable places.

That being said the closing on Sundays thing is real. I’ve heard of the pressure from the religious community to close on Sundays from people who have owned businesses on Main St.

I hated playing hockey in Norwich, fuck we used to have some tillys there. This big dutch kid, had like a blond mullet, a Kelly Hrudy bandana flappin in the wind, always a fuckin hundy p crusin for a bruisin. The boys out back had their hands real full with that jabroni. Had a few post game parking lot royal rumbles over the years to. Fucking Norwich, no wonder those boys were so pent up ferda though, reading this.

I feel like this is the most Canadian thing I've read in decades. And believe me, it's appreciated 😊

Canadian born and raised, but I haven't lived there for a couple decades now.

After living in a small mennonite town in Alberta this story is all too believable.

And still just as disgusting.
