How Hitler used hate to gain power and that its not worth it to fall for hate. Worth a watch, you can even do a movie night on it maybe, its scary.

As many times as I've seen it, it's still really worthwhile to see it again. Unfortunately it seems like we're progressing down the wrong path a little more, year after year, as long as I can remember.

I still find it so weird that the people who grew up during the red scare, doing duck and cover drills, and probably still watched some of these in school, ended up voting for this hook line and sinker.

In a lot of ways, boomers grew up in a world of mass media, where there was a barrier to entry when it came to publishing stuff, and while mass media wasn't always truthful, there was trust to be had.

Their minds never really adjusted to this current world where anyone could publish whatever they wanted without any gatekeepers.

"You really think someone would do that, just to go on the internet and tell lies?"

Brainwashing is one hell of a drug.

The red scare, you mean where people were swimming in propaganda and hate of the unknown?

Yeah, so surprising that their critical thinking skills atrophied...

I fully expected to drop this as soon as I saw the first screen considering this is a movie made by the military, but it actually was interesting that I sat through the whole thing.

One point this film makes that I rarely see online is the idea that oppositions are not dumb. They know what they are doing, and it's not just them accidentally shooting themselves at their foot (at least, not always).

Everytime I see someone posting this video, I watch it from beginning to end. All the way back to my days on Reddit. Too bad it did little good then, and unfortunately we are watching maga pull the same playbook and it's working.

Maybe we need a modern version.

I've wondered how Putin got into power for a bit now. I heard that he also used the power of oligarchies to seize control, and used rigging as well. Maybe I should make a post later?

Everything happens for a calculated reason... most of the time. Or maybe they're playing it off as intentional.

May have relevancy? Dude, if something is about fascism, it's absolutely relevant today.

Edited the post to reflect this.

This film also sends a powerful message, which that the German man we followed through the rise of the Nazi empire, has died for nothing. Its pretty sad.
