Looking for something to fill the soon-to-be gaping hole that will be left in the absence of Apollo.

Been using Memmy and it’s very nice. The dev just added themes this morning (heavily under work) and he’s very responsive to bug reports. As others said you’ll need TestFlight to try it out. Cheers!

There are two candidates called mlem and memmy, which are currently available through TestFlight .

Memmy is updated almost daily at this point, the App has come a long way just this week even

Memmy is my favorite of them all so far. Gestures are too good to lose after being an Apollohead. Dev has been killing it with updates too.

There are between 10 and 20 people actively working on the app in various capacities, there was an update on team structure couple of days ago - https://lemmy.ml/post/1372165 It is the original dev who is stepping down and who says he wasn’t actively involved with development for a while.

Sounds like the app is just transferring ownership and might rebrand.

Hope the developer is ok, sounds like this is weighing heavily on them.

The original author quit, but he said he handed over everything to other devs. So no need (yet) to state stuff like "going dark".

Mlem. Memmy. Lemon. Limbo.

I’m using limbo more to than other lately. But I use them all.

Memmy, Mlem and Limbo for Lemmy are all nice!

I believe there are a number of apps in early development stages. I saw a post on KBin yesterday linking to them, but I can’t find it now.

I’ve been using Memmy for over a week now, and the amount of development in that time is insane! It’s progressing so fast, and I don’t even feel the need to use the web version of Lemmy anymore.

thunder came out on test flight today as well

Check out wefwef. It’s really great! https://wefwef.app/

How’s it compare feature wise to Memmy?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

It feels a lot more polished than Memmy and Mlem to me. Which is impressive since it’s a web app.

Your handle seems very familiar. I think we may have crossed paths before on reddit?

I agree, Apollo's absence will leave a gaping hole.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Odd. I haven’t used it on Reddit before.

I must have you confused with someone else. Thanks for replying.

I’m currently using Memmy and it’s pretty good for how early in development it is.

There’s also another app called Artemis that’s in development that’s heavily inspired by Apollo. Still in alpha and they not yet open for testing.

I’m using liftoff! right now, and it seems pretty polished. Looking forward to it being out of TestFlight.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Any thoughts on it be Memmy?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think I tried to get into that one, but the Test flight was full. There are plenty out there (I’m typing this with wefwef), but I think Liftoff is still my favorite.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I’m liking wefwef more. Liftoff has fallen into third place. Thunder is second. Memmy and wefwef tied for first. Mlem is definitely in last place since it doesn’t seem to be getting updates.

There are 3-4 active ones, I prefer Mlem so far.

Thanks, I figured it out!

Also there’s an iOS app called Lemon in pre-alpha. https://lemm.ee/post/127800

Mlem is very good. I’m running both Mlem and Memmy but keep going back to Mlem at the moment.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You’ll need TestFlight, but I would recommend Memmy. I have on several occasions been using it and forgotten that I wasn’t on reddit

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Biggest problem I have with Memmy so far is the lack of a collapse animation. That said, I think Mlem has a design I like better.
