Just going to keep this in my back pocket the next time some reactionary wonders why we need a "special history for black people".

There's no justification for this that isn't racist.

I live in Alabama and I was literally talking to an air force training pilot yesterday and he was telling me about this change and he said this just pure racism, because this was just teaching history during the schooling process.

The memo said a video on the Tuskegee Airmen, a second video titled "Breaking Barriers" and a third about the Women Airforce Service Pilots who supported the war effort during World War II had been excised from a course on "airmindedness."

I can’t imagine hating anything as much as Trump hates veterans.

The sad thing that this was not Trump; he just signed the EO. He probably doesn't even know this lesson exists. This was some mid-level officer trying to hew to the EO and a memo from the Acting Secretary of the Air Force. The fact that it was this fast shows how many people all over the government are willing to comply with these immoral orders.

The National Rosie the Riveter museum in Richmond California (a stone's throw from Berkeley, SF, Oakland, etc) removed an LGBT exhibit. They also weren't told to do it but did so proactively so as not to fall afoul of Trump's anti DEI order.

That's sad. It was really disheartening to see the amount of preemptive cooperation.

But no! Months ago I was assured by a chunk of replies that the military is loyal to The Constitution ™️ and therefore wouldn't dream of carrying out any of Trump's orders!

From my experience, some are and some aren't. It's a numbers game, and hopefully the ratio is positive.

The removal of the instructional videos on the Tuskegee Airmen quickly drew scorn from people commenting on a Facebook page devoted to Air Force enlisted personnel, Air Force Amn/Nco/Snco.

“None of that has to do with DEI, they should know the history of the Tuskegee Airmen,” one person wrote.

“That’s so dumb, that has nothing to do with the woke DEI!” another wrote.

"Why are these White Nationalists suddenly acting so racist???"

How to stop black people from entering the military.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 week ago

Might be what they want. Hard to use the military against people that look like themselves.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

Well, this is for further indoctrinating people who already signed up. Not outreach.

I have very strong Thoughts about how we brainwash and indoctrinate the people who get conned into joining the military and "Hey look, we weren't raging assholes for a few brief moments" very much whitewashes over the long history of war crimes and abuse.

But this has nothing to do with trying to reduce that and is purely about "black people bad"

[–] [email protected] -3 points 1 week ago

You have an interesting view on why people enlist in the military lol.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 week ago

the 332 still exists and is proud of their heritage, I can't believe they're removing this from the curriculum. one of the tuskegee airmen came and spoke at my high school, and was a big part of why I joined. I was lucky enough to be in that unit a few years ago

Slavery never existed, the south won the war, Hitler was a good guy, negros are not people, homosexuals are deviants, retards poison the purity of the rightful rulers, etc.

This is just the beginning.

(Sorry for the words, but those were the words used in the times we're heading back to and the rewriting of history)
