I’ve been permabanned from Reddit for harassment. I was fucking with some guys that liked anime in a non anime subreddit, I simply called them Chinese cartoons and they got mad, bigly. Anyways I trolled too much using that account so apparently they figured it was better to cut me off the website entirely. I would like to use Reddit still, but every account gets banned as soon as I make it. It tells me I can appeal but I can’t actually because that was more than a year ago.

If I delete that account and all associated accounts, and make new account not associated with them (new email), will it get banned too? I know reddit bans are not just IP bans but also use device ID and all that shit. Will I have to buy a new computer exclusively for Reddit? Or does my device becomes unflagged the moment I delete the banned account?

I need help with this shit. I like lemmy but there’s just not enough people here.

Have you considered cutting your losses ans stop using Reddit and also (more importantly) stop being such a dick?

Welcome to the "find out" step of the patented two step FAFO plan.

Clear your cookies. VPN, different/privacy focused browser to mask your device ID. You could also try dual booting or using a VM to mask your device. Don't use the same email address, same IP, same browser, or appearance of same device or they'll flag it instantly. Don't use a remotely similar username.

But seriously? Considering buying a new computer for reddit? Better to take this as a very clear sign that you're addicted. No website is worth that.

If you can't figure this shit out yourself through searching online, there's a near zero percent chance that you won't fuck something up and just get perma'd again anyway.

Im not seriously considering it, it was more of a hypothetical question.

I’m not even considering doing all that shit just to use Reddit, which is why I asking if deleting the banned account after a year would be enough.

I guess I’m fucked. Just because neckbeards can’t have their animu made fun of.
