Really makes me want to not pay my taxes anymore, considering the trajectory we’re clearly in now.

Good news. The Republicans just introduced a bill to repeal the income tax.
Unless you think the current state of public education is the best, having dollars follow kids to where they go to school instead of just going to public schools seems like a decent compromise. Around me those public funds go to tearing down perfectly good buildings and building ~~schools~~ palaces on property owned by people on the school board and near their friends so they can increase their property value and sell high. All while the level of education stays the same at best.
