It was not immediately clear why the crowd took exception to a man who first entered the ring in 1977 and went on to win six World Wrestling Entertainment championships, the last coming in 2002 when he defeated the now company CEO Triple H for as short reign, and be inducted into the WWE’s Hall of Fame not once but twice.

In 2015, he was temporarily removed from the WWE Universe when a shocking video emerged of him repeatedly using the n-word to describe his daughter’s rumored boyfriend. However in 2018, all was forgiven and Hogan once more began making appearances for the Connecticut-based promotion.

However, Hogan’s increasingly vocal support for President-elect Donald Trump might have been behind it, although wrestling is not generally known for attracting a liberal audience.

You don’t have to be liberal to oppose a dangerous, criminal, fascist, narcissistic dictator. Props to the audience.

I know at least a handful of folks on the actual left who still like wrestling. It attracts all types, who enjoy the theatre of it all for its own sake.

I used to be way into it. McMahon buying WCW and ECW made me feel icky. And once the shock value wore off I had one foot out the door. Hogan getting another title in 2002(?) was enough for me to walk away entirely. I don't know if things have actually gotten worse, or more of the shit just became public, but I'm done. I still miss it sometimes. But I'm done.

And that's how I would feel, too (if it was something I liked). But some people are able to compartmentalize things differently than I can, and I'm not here to police their choices.

The article should be titled "this is why", since it basically just states all the reasons, but puts question marks after them instead of periods accidentally.

Maybe they meant "it was not immediately clear which of the various reasons given were the specific one each person in the crowd was booing for" But does it really matter if they only heard of one of those reasons, or if some of them knew multiple, or all of the reasons.... even knowing none of them previously, just his current presentation at that show alone was reason to boo him even if you had no idea who he was.

The younger generations aren't required to revere every dinosaur brought out for pandering nostalgic applause.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 weeks ago

Because he's a turd burgler

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago

Fuck yeah. Great use of turd burglar. I don't see it often anymore and it feels like a dying breed.
