It's sad to see one of FOSS project to make web browsing experience became better is in abandonedware.
It's kinda same like Eternity, super rarely get new update although it has many customization compared to other lemmy apps. Sometimes I wonder why no one fork it and make it better ?

Mull was the only browser on my phone, which was more than enough for me, never encountered a problem with it and haven't had to use another browser for the past two years.

If it’s open source won’t anyone pickup the project and continue support?

Divest Os has announced the closure of the project along with its mobile applications (Mull, Mulch, Hypatia), which will no longer receive updates. https://divestos.org/pages/news

That's super sad, I've been using Mull exclusively on my phone :(

What's a good non-chromium alternative? Fennec?

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Fennec is the only one still in development. There are some discussions to fork librewolf to android but nothing is official yet. I also came across Ironfox which is a mull fork, but everything still so vague about it

I'd be over the moon to have librewolf on android, but that does suck that we lost mull

DivestOS got discontinued, including every project that was related to it i think

I'm still hoping for a fork sometime in the future, but I guess we'll see. For now I'm back on fennec. I wish the developer all the best of course, I just wish there had been a bit more warning :/

LadyBird can't come soon enough.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Been testing it out on Linux, I've been very impressed so far. Some guy already ordered a pizza with it lol.

Why the fuck? I looked at their website and it literally just says "yeah we made it so much great stuff 10 years now we quit goodbye"… what?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

Goddamn it they killed off both of the browsers I have installed on my phone!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Now what browser am I supposed to use :c

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 month ago

Fennec and Cromite.

You can give waterfox a shot. It's back to being independent and is stable now, has long track record, unlimited extensions, unlocked about:config and isn't affected by mozilla's bulshit.

Ill look into it :3

Wow, guess it's time to say goodbye to an old friend. :(

Using Fennec now, but I tried out Iceraven and it seems like a solid alternative as well. Last update was a month ago, so seems to be active.

I used to use Fulguris. Thought it was dead (last update 9 months), but I see the github owner replied to issues yesterday. It just had a lot of site compatibility issues.

is this for the privacy nuts? I was about to recommend Firefox but that would be far far far far too obvious and an ill fit when you want uncompromising privacy even at the cost of ease of use

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Personally for me privacy isn't why i don't use firefox, this is

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

I don't get it?
