trying out a few browsers & the pale moon home page sometimes directs to the russian lang page despite my lang set as english.

https://palemoon.start.me/start keeps connecting to https://palemoon.start.me/ru

If I understand correctly, OP is after the non-Russian Pale Moon browser start page, not the project home page.

Oh, I see. I misunderstood.

So did I apparently. In that case I strongly suggest setting the default page to about:blank instead of that start.me crap.

yep! ended up setting a diff default page, but was more so curious about the behavior/root cause.

where did you download palemoon from? Which OS are you on? Did you scan for viruses recently? Your lang may be set in English but is your region English speaking? did you try manually setting the homepage you prefer? &c et cetera

was doing some distro hopping & was trying out antiX on an old machine.

dl was done using the antiX package mgr.

region is english speaking; usa.

yes, manually set a different home page but was more so curious why this was happening.
