What are some items that you have bought, and have lasted a really long time, or have solid lifetime warranties?

I realized I don't think I have anything I would put into that category, and I would like to change that. Most of my stuff comes straight from the Amazon recommended section, and realistically probably won't last more than 5 years :(

Those damn gas station sunglasses I’ve had for like 15 years. Still good enough that I haven’t replaced them…

Seriously though,

I think the BIFL movement overvalues brands.

Looking for quality and intentionally buying something you like that will be with you for years is more important to me.

Buy less, repair it, use it longer.

I bought a 3 pack of wayfarer sunglasses on Amazon for like $20 like 5 years ago figuring wouldn't matter if I lost them or they broke. Still have them and they're still in good shape.

A mechanical keyboard. I have the CM Storm QuickFire XT with Cherry MX brown switches. I got it from Amazon. It doesn't look like it's available anymore. But there's a whole world of mechanical keyboards out there. I haven't researched them in a long time since I love the one I have and don't need a new one -- and probably won't need a new one for a long time.

Just bought a black and Blum lunchbox - seems brilliant so far, metal construction, no plastic and pretty darn leak proof. Two year warranty, but I'm hoping for it to lat much much longer than that.

norrona jackets

i've had mine for many years, wore it pretty often, did everything in it, from skiing/hiking/rafting to just normal rain/warmth protection, and it still looks brand new, it's extremely high quality and pretty durable

they are rather expensive tho, like 500 euro +, but you can find versions from previous years (still new) for about 300, worth it either way if you can afford it imo
