Okay. Reddit just killed itself.
Yikes
goes out to get more popcorn Yes.... Excellent.
Jesus fuck that place
~~Oh my God spez has resorted to outright deleting some of the colossal moneymaker subs, that will do more permanent damage than a user blackout ever could. This is quite possibly the funniest thing I've seen from that shitsite in years.~~
They just removed the mods. They'll presumably appoint someone else. Now, those appointed replacement mods may well dick up the sub and result in it losing popularity, but Reddit isn't deleting the sub directly.
How barbaric! But it's good that they are showing their true colours, it will help the remaining redditors make up their mind about leaving.
This shit has gone way too far.
so it's more than just r/mildlyinteresting. there's also r/TIHI and r/interestingasfuck and r/shittylifeprotips and r/illegallifeprotips and r/self
looks like the admins have decided to start their campaign in what they seem to believe is a war
This morning's news about the r/mildlyinteresting team being reinstated and unsuspended by a different admin - that's confirmation that there's internal conflict going on. Protests don't work, my ass.
USE BCC, NOT TO OR IT WILL SHOW ALL THE COMPANIES EVERYONE YOU EMAILED.
lol zoomers
This is both infuriating and devastating.
We all knew this was a possibility.
The next move should be contacting all the mods of all the subreddits you love and get them the information on a migration. Set up a place for them to land and offer to have them mod here if they want to move everyone.
I have done that with my favorite subs already. Hopefully the mods respond and set up home here.
ive been trying but most the time they hadnt listened. i think they need more voices encouraging them, politely of course, we dont wanna look like dicks. something as simple as "Hey, i love this community but I no longer use reddit, will you guys be making a community on Kbin or other alternatives? Let me know please, thanks."
I can't say I'm surprised we've arrived at this point but still... If this is the precedent set then there's surely not much more that can be done. Thing that sort of sickens me is seeing just how many people are immediately lining up to take over as mods for these subs, but maybe I'm just naïve.
