considering Texas has the eighth largest economy in the world but regularly loses control of its basic utility infrastructure and does not offer even emergency health care, texas really is a third-world country inside the US.

The US is largely a third world country anyway, but Texas really checks all the boxes.

Texas isn't landlocked, though, they have a decent sized coast along the Gulf of Mexico.

Other than that... No notes. ๐Ÿ‘

You can roll a camera through Alabama and play "in the arms of an angel" over the footage.

A potentially hypothetical human is more valuable than a woman to these people.

Remember that.

People love anything as long as it's new.

What kind of doctor lets distant police stop them from saving someone? I don't let the police change my behavior for even trivial stuff!

Ones who don't want to throw away their ability to keep practicing medicine.

It's not just the threat of police, it's also them losing their license and ability to be insured and the possibility of getting multi million dollar lawsuits to go along with it legally being the same as murder if a doctor gives any treatment for someone having a miscarriage

The type who have state approved political informants reviewing their medical notes and are looking to take away their professional registration and entire career (plus possible prison sentences) on the basis of wildly vague and open to interpretation law because Yay Jesus.

The low-key bastards are the hospital's lawyers for not telling them to do it anyway and viciously contesting any threats toward saving women's lives.

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

Geez that sucks.

Doctors have to start saying "this is intolerable" and do what's obviously needed, and their legal departments can back them up or fuck off.

What next, "backstreet miscarriages"?
