It's funny how, somehow, somewhere along the way displaying PDFs became the web browser's job
Firefox
A place to discuss the news and latest developments on the open-source browser Firefox
This is somewhat defensible. PDF is the de-facto alternative to HTML for documents. The web is also full of JPGs and nobody claims that the browser should not render them.
I've been using Firefox since it was called Netscape, and before that I was using Mosaic. Nowadays, I'm also using Safari (and Vivaldi) but I still can't imagine not using FF as my default browser. More exactly, FF with the uBO extension, which is another nice gift to all of us — a bit like FF pop-up blocker was back then.
I would have loved if they had released an anniversary icon for FF. Too bad they did not, but that's probably just me getting old, all nostalgic and sentimental :p
I've been using FF since Opera went to shit, I can absolutely imagine not using FF, what I can't imagine is using a WebKit bloatfest
The tab groups are exactly how i wanted them, that's awesome to see.
The profiles are a very nice addition too.
Seems like apart from the new features the UI gets a fresh design as well. That's all personal taste however, I'm just glad they finally implement native tab groups 🤩
Also, just remove all the featured articles bs, nobody cares about the articles (I know that's not gonna happen, but I had to vent for a second)
You remove them and they're gone...
Much like testicles!
I wish Firefox was better
Can you elaborate on your request? What feature is it lacking that other browsers deliver on?
Not OP but for me just having it support macOS autocorrect in the browser would be great... I can literally load any other browser and my typed shortcuts (eg if it type @ @ (without the space in between) it gets auto replaced with my email address) just work... not Firefox though 🤷🏻♂️
Not being a vessel for all the Mozilla junk. I don't want all the "features"
will it last 20 more?
I haven't really used it much over the last 20 years
Cool story bro. I once ate pineapple while watching a Golden Girls rerun.
