That's chump change compared to what the McDonald's coffee suit was awarded. And that was 30 years ago.

The jury awarded Liebeck $160,000.00 in compensatory damages (to cover medical expenses) and $2.7 million in punitive damages (to punish McDonald's for its actions).

This lady needs to go for at least 1 million when we adjust for bullshitflation.

That is just the legal requirement for federal jurisdiction. Plaintiff will be able to argue for damages later on.
