These Sonkun shaders for RetroArch look great. I don't emulate much on a desktop, but I think I will set these up on Steam Deck for use while docked. Note: Make sure to view the full-sized images to not just see a blurry mess: https://forums.libretro.com/t/new-sonkun-crt-guest-advanced-hd-presets-thread/39091 #RetroGaming #Shaders #CRT

These look amazing.
So much better than the "let's just throw a scanline filter on there and call it a day" type of rereleases.

I really wish we would get these kinds of things more in official ports.

@[email protected] Yeah, very few go the extra mile. I think it probably is a fair bit of extra work, though, since you would have to be sure it works on all display types and resolutions.

@[email protected] Me too, most CRT shaders aren't even that heavy. It wouldn't be that hard to have a good preset.

@[email protected] Small tip, if you are playing on a monitor or a low resolution TV just turn off the mask. Recently I switched to Retroarch's simpler included CRT shaders from CyberLab's CRT Royale presets and I think they make for a much better experience. Much lighter and brighter too, I love using CRT Consumer with NES.

@[email protected] That's what I do :) Plus on a small display it's far harder to see the effect anyway, so I just use it on big displays.
