Be nice to each other. Being aggressive or inflammatory towards other users will get you banned. Name calling or obvious trolling falls under that. Hate cars, hate the system, but not people. While some drivers definitely deserve some hate, most of them didn't choose car-centric life out of free will.
No bigotry or hate. Racism, transphobia, misogyny, ableism, homophobia, chauvinism, fat-shaming, body-shaming, stigmatization of people experiencing homeless or substance users, etc. are not tolerated. Don't use slurs. You can laugh at someone's fragile masculinity without associating it with their body. The correlation between car-culture and body weight is not an excuse for fat-shaming.
Stay on-topic. Submissions should be on-topic to the externalities of car culture in urban development and communities globally. Posting about alternatives to cars and car culture is fine. Don't post literal car fucking.
No traffic violence. Do not post depictions of traffic violence. NSFW or NSFL posts are not allowed. Gawking at crashes is not allowed. Be respectful to people who are a victim of traffic violence or otherwise traumatized by it. News articles about crashes and statistics about traffic violence are allowed. Glorifying traffic violence will get you banned.
No reposts. Before sharing, check if your post isn't a repost. Reposts that add something new are fine. Reposts that are sharing content from somewhere else are fine too.
No misinformation. Masks and vaccines save lives during a pandemic, climate change is real and anthropogenic - and denial of these and other established facts will get you banned. False or highly speculative titles will get your post deleted.
No harassment. Posts that (may) cause harassment, dogpiling or brigading, intentionally or not, will be removed. Please do not post screenshots containing uncensored usernames. Actual harassment, dogpiling or brigading is a bannable offence.
Please report posts and comments that violate our rules.
I mean, it's cool and all. As a Swiss citizen I've been there. But it's a small village town living from tourists (who arrive by train).
Definitely not a model for the world, but definitely something that places with slower life and simple traffic could adopt.
There's a good, but sadly nebula exclusive Not Just Bikes video comparing Zermatt with the notably more car friendly St. Mortiz
Nebula is amazing and I would highly encourage any urbanist to sign up for it. It's only like $30 per year.
If they had anti clickbait policies, then maybe. Until then I look at their video feed in disgust and close the tab. I really don't need a paid YouTube with all its garbage content.
I can't say I disagree with you. The thumbnails and titles are sometimes a bit clickbaity. But they don't let anyone join the site as a creator unless they have faith in the actual content of the videos. They're creators who sometimes use clickbaity thumbnails because that's just essential to surviving the YouTube algorithm, and the Nebula version usually just takes the same title and thumbnail from YouTube. But it's never the sort of clickbait where a clickbaity thumbnail was used to trick you into watching actual garbage content—the content is always high quality.
I wish they'd tone it down for the Nebula version, but that's an extra amount of work for honestly very little extra value, so I understand why they don't.
Fully agree. The videos especially are generally high quality regardless of how they're dressed up, although i've found some creators use different thumbnails and video titles which gets confusing when trying to mark as watched in NewPipe afterwards

Huh? What are you talking about? Nebula has always been a place to see YouTube content ad-free, sometimes with bonus content or earlier than on YouTube. That's like…its defining feature.
I thought it was exclusive content only. I can watch adfree YT on YT already.
Oh right. Yeah nah, it's mostly YouTube videos without ads (preroll and midroll ads from YouTube, as well as sponsorship segments which are edited out). That's the primary purpose of the site. On top of that, probably about 20% of videos have a bit of bonus content on Nebula ranging from a tiny segment of a few tens of seconds up to over 10 minutes. Then another roughly 20% of videos a released on Nebula first, often by 1 day, sometimes by over a month. Then finally there are the Nebula originals. These are funded by Nebula itself, many stay exclusive to Nebula for life, some eventually get released onto YouTube. There are podcasts too, like the Nebula-exclusive Jet Lag companion podcast The Layover, and Jason Slaughter of Not Just Bikes' "The Urbanist Agenda" which is also available on public feeds (ad-supported, I assume—I've only ever listened to this one via Nebula).
If you subscribe to Nebula, you're doing it for all of that, but also in part in the interest of supporting creators. It's like Patreon in that respect, part of its value is the knowledge that you're doing something to help fund the creation of the content you enjoy to a much greater degree than if you were watching ads at single-digit dollars per thousand impressions (and obviously far greater than if you were blocking ads).
I loved the content, and paid for it for over a year, but the app and website were so awful I wound up watching the youtube versions via newpiped and not bothering with any of the exclusives so I cancelled.
Out of interest, when was that? Because yeah the app really was awful. When I first started using Nebula I'd use the website in a browser on my phone rather than put up with the app.
But it's come a long way since then. Android is still a little unresponsive when it comes to things like adding or removing videos from your Watch Later list, but other than that I find it really good now.
