Is it? It's on github - I didn't notice any proprietary blobs.
It it's not "open source", it is "source available" (GitHub: The source code is available for personal use only). You can see source, but cannot modify or fork project.
P. S. I don't understand why it is not licensed under FOSS license. You can add open source app to Play Market and even sell it.
