Welcome to the Ranked Choice Voting Community!

Voting is broken! Let's fix it.

Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is a voting system in which voters rank candidates by preference on their ballots. If a candidate wins a majority of first-preference votes, they are declared the winner. If no candidate wins a majority, the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated, and votes for that candidate are redistributed to the remaining candidates, based on the next preference on each ballot. This process continues until one candidate has a majority. Learn more about how it works.

That can’t be because Democrats are horribly corrupt liberals! All my progressive leftist buddies said so

That’s good. There are a number of lemmings who claim to identify strongly with socialism and communism who have made many comments to the effect that they will not vote against trump because the democrats are too weak or corrupt to pass healthcare for all, universal basic income, and a women’s healthcare Constitutional amendment, among other demands for instant gratification such as a “presidential decree” for ranked-choice voting.

When it is pointed out that Democrats are the only viable party working toward those aims, that the other viable party is explicitly working to destroy the possibility of those things, and not supporting the former is de facto supporting the latter, they double down on some other nonsense.

If you haven’t seen it - good.

They call this preferential voting in Australia and it’s been in use for a century and it works well.

As they should!

But absolutely garbage tier article. They make multiple absolutely wild claims about the world that aren't even really directly related to the article's subject. Seems like a completely conspiratorially minded far-right source, and I can't find another reporting on the same story. I hope they're able to report basic facts correctly despite their extreme bias
