There appear to be a few extensions. Wikihow has a couple of articles about how to block shorts.

WH sometimes surprises. :)
Try element picker of ublock origin. It worked for me.
To piggy back on this, there's also this list you can add to ublock origin https://github.com/gijsdev/ublock-hide-yt-shorts
Using ublock origins works for me.
