What is a ruin? We’re running off of “You know it when you see it” at the moment. Ruins should be non-functioning structures of some age, or their function reduced to tourism and the like. Generally speaking, specific items from a ruin should go to [email protected] Illustrations of ruins (or their reconstructions) should go to [email protected] Photos of ruins back when they were functioning should go to [email protected]

Did people have binoculars back then?

More importantly how did they hear them

Additionally to what the other poster said, the actors would wear masks (like the comedy/tragedy masks you see decorating drama classrooms) that helped communicate to the cheap seats what emotions the actors were dealing as well as helping amplify the voice.

Additionally there would be a group of actors called the chorus who would occasionally chant lines together (and loudly) that would help summarize what was going on.

Good to know they catered to the cheap seats as well. Kind of reminds me of the skit in Life of Brian when they're all the way in the back of a gathering of Jesus lol.

It's an amphitheater. It's going to be designed with acoustics in mind. Not that it was perfect, I'm sure, but the sound probably did carry at least fairly well to the top.

Not for another 1500 years or so.
