What an interesting story! I was surprised and sad to learn that most transplants cannot go ahead if the donor doesn't stop breathing in time.

I wonder if assisted death could be possible for donors who agree? I would re-sign every year confirming that if I am brain dead, I would rather be assisted to die, thus assuring my organs have use going forward.

Sellers and his team recently agreed to let an NPR reporter and photographers shadow them while they attempted NRP organ recoveries. This is believed to be the first time a journalist has done that in the U.S., according to the AOPO.

I’m glad they’re TCB.
