Sony introduces the Walkman, the first portable audio cassette player. Over the next thirty years they will sell over 385 million Walkmans in cassette, CD, mini-disc and digital file versions, but later struggled against Apple's iPod and other new devices.

I just remembered a long unanswered question. Why did Slayer’s Reign in Blood cassette require me to flip it over? The entire album was only 35 minutes.

I wish I could find a decently priced “Walkman”. I have a decent sized cassette collection. A Bluetooth Walkman would be cool in my car…though unnecessary considering I have a phone. 🤷‍♂️

That design is so crisp, I love it. Buzzy tech startups would pay Teenage Engineering so much money to make exactly this is 2024.
