Mentioning your blog, insta, website, book or bar is allowed, yes. For now at least, we do allow self-promotion. If it gets out of hand this might change.
A good post with a drink you don't like is still a good post! Try not to conflate the drink and the post or poster. If someone has a relevant title, gorgeous photo and clearly formatted recipe of what you consider a truly terrible drink, a comment is more appropriate than a downvote.
On that topic: Polite critique/reviews of drinks (or posts, images, etc.) is allowed here. Encouraged , even. It's a good tool for improving your drinks and content. Really, just be nice.
This is one I saw linked on a punch article that @rbwells posted last week, from Daisuke Ito. It’s simple, elegant, and the scotch balances nicely with Bénédictine. I would have this again!
This quantity was good in a Nick and Nora, but I’d double it for a coupe next time.
What kind of scotch did you use? Is it something peaty or not? I don't know what Bénédictine tastes like, but I'm guessing NOT peaty.
Bénédictine is really sweet with some herbal notes, so you’re right: not peaty! I used a blended scotch with medium smoky notes, but I think you have a lot of flexibility with scotches here to get different flavors.
