It makes sense from a language point of view though, the subject being either those civilians or Hamas and a subject slip.
It’s literally how a Freudian slip works.
Right, but then the slip was that he meant to say "Hamas" instead of "those civilians."
I get that he misspoke, in the sense that he didn't intend to say the quiet part out loud.
