Like the other person said you have to look it up first in browse.feddit.de first to see if it even exits somewhere in the first place. It also doesn't update instantly and since things are happening fast right now you might also check lemmy.ml and sopuli.xyz directly. Also once you find the community, you might have to search and then wait a while and then come back later and search again because not all external communities are cached and it takes a while to ingest from your search request. Also check the instances page at the bottom as communities on blocked instances will not work! This is my first 3 hours in a nutshell. Welcome!
