People in nazi germany were 'granted' sunday off because it increased productivity enough to where it was worth it to the elites. Then saturday eventually followed. Wish they had pushed it all the way to wednesday.

It's still not "a given." Plenty of people work on the weekends.

Who "died for that?" A little context would be nice. As far as I know, there's been a popular day of rest for a very, very long time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Workweek_and_weekend

A single day off, yes, two, not so common. From your link:

In 1929, the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America was the first union to demand and receive a five-day workweek. The rest of the United States slowly followed, but it was not until 1940, when a provision of the 1938 Fair Labor Standards Act mandating a maximum 40-hour workweek went into effect, that the two-day weekend was adopted nationwide.

"thought"

CLAIMED!

They knew it wasn't, they knew they were lying and they did it because they thought it might work.

It was, and it was only won as a compromise with the threat of violent revolution.
