No, video games are a great investment and everyone loves venture capital in games.

Anyway, here's call of duty 87, we removed all the stuff you liked and added bugs back in. Money please.

The loss is job security for existing developers

From what I've been reading the past few years, job security for developers doesn't exist beyond the current game they're working on.

It’s slowly changing with the formation of unions.

They can just transition to being indie devs or transition to adjacent programming fields. It is not challenging to find work as a programmer. I doubt positions known for brutal crunch time are very coveted by the devs that hold them
