It's called movies as hopefully at some point in the future we'll have TV shows split, but as Lemmy still has a small community it makes sense to consolidate both types of content here

Isn't there already [email protected]? I have enough on my plate at the moment, if someone wants to do it, they should! We could grow the two communities together, that would be nice

Yes, but it takes some work to keep it alive and active. I'm already spread on a few other communities, so I can't do it for dedicated television community. But again, if someone wants to do it, let me know, I'll do my best to promote it
Pretty sure it's because this community's mods repurposed [email protected] after they had a falling out with the mod at [email protected]. So the content here is for both mediums.
If you don't like seeing tv content there are film-only communities like [email protected], the much smaller [email protected] and a whole lot of niche communities for trailers, full films, etc. I keep a list, hit me up if you want it.
