"Coupe-like SUV" feels like an oxymoron. Where's the utility in a coupe? And when do we get back to normal cars?

Because you can’t use the words “wagon” or “hatchback” in American advertising.

Hmm... I think both types of cars are awesome and better than a sedan. I think a hatchback is all around awesome

Hatchback is just a body type, wagon is admittwdly shit sounding but we have always used the term etate. SUVs only came into populer use here with the Tucson.

SUVs suck, everyone thinks they are a yank in them. Ford Ranger are the worst.

...but we have always used the term etate.

As a foreigner I was not aware of that. Will add to my vocabulary.

Too late now! Etate it is. It's cute.

Exactly. It is a rebrand of hatchbacks. Which is fine because hatchbacks are great.

Hatchbacks are traditionally smaller vehicles. These modern behemoths are huge. Based on the design, the Hyundai Ionic 5 looks like it should be the size of a traditional small Golf, but it's larger than a Volvo station wagon because "SUV". We need the smaller vehicles back and not redefine everything as having to be oversized.

They'll call anything an SUV these days, since apparently that is all anybody wants to buy. This thing looks nothing like an SUV.

Hmm, that's pretty spensive for a car with an iPad glued to the dashboard instead of an integrated infotainment center.
