BTW: The game is currently on sale at gog.com for 99 Cents. Wanted to replay it and buying it was easier than digging out my discs or piracy.

Any must have mods to experience the game in a more modern setting?

Tried playing today with gmdx on linux but was crashing all the time.

Don't know. Lutris offered to install the Community Update so that's what I did. Direct3D 10 seemed to work best for me. But I have only walked a little bit around the tutorial so far.

Thanks for mentioning lutris and community update. Installs all needed mods that in general also prepare deus ex for max performance for linux.

GMDX is pretty neat

Other than patches to fix bugs, I recommend against most of the highly praised mods. They change a lot more of the gameplay abc story than people usually admit, and you lose that original feeling of the game.

Deus ex: revision is pretty good too. Changes a bit more than GMDX compared to the original though (e.g., more map changes, some new soundtracks)

That was musk while he studied the blade and didn't own any 'ai'.

You mean back when he thought renaming PayPal to X would be the answer to the worlds problems?

[–] [email protected] 16 points 6 months ago

It's funny how much of a one track mind he has. Participate in/purchase a decently operational company, attempt to rename it x, ????, profit. We are currently in the ???? Phase again.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 6 months ago

This right here. It's absolutely ridiculous that anyone thinks Musk was ever a reasonable and of sound mind type of person

yeah almost like capitalist have been fantasying about and drooling at the possibility of ruining millions of people lives by replacing them with functionally useless automated systems, just to end up hiring the same people as some new made up job that has the same responsibilities but lower pay because supposedly the computer is doing most of it now.

I agree with John Travolta.

Jake Peralta?

cautionary? Turing and Minsky said this in the early 50s.

Lovelace said this a century before we ever built a computer

I could not finish any other part but this game. Anything like it?

I mean that reboot was OK but could not grab me.
