recalled over a crazy stupid reason - the cool looking fascia they put on the pedals could slip and get stuck in multiple places under the dash and on the floor mat. their solution is riveting it on.

why not just design a decent looking one part pedal? that plastic garbage is going to crack on the rivets and it'll still get someone hurt. what a clown car. unsafe by design in so so so many ways, and that's before you decide to roll the dice on fool self drive.
